Good morning, Blue lights, camera, action!📺 Announcement - This coming Monday (05 October) , North Yorkshire Police takes centre stage in the brand-new series of Biker Cops: Elite Squad One. Starting at 8pm on Channel 5, the series follows our Roads Policing officers as they patrol the roads of York and North Yorkshire, respond to incidents, target criminals using our road network and police some of the most remote parts of the UK. But it’s not just about the bikes. The cameras have also been in our roads policing cars and even behind the scenes in our Force Control Room, capturing the vital work that goes into managing incidents and deploying officers across the county. They have also joined teams from across the force during major policing operations, showing how our officers and staff work together to target criminals and keep our communities safe. So why do we take part in programmes like this? Because policing is about far more than what you see when a blue-light vehicle passes you. Opening our doors to documentary crews gives us an opportunity to show the reality of modern policing and the work that often happens out of public view. It allows people to see the decisions we make and the teamwork, professionalism and commitment that goes into keeping York and North Yorkshire safe every day. Most importantly, it gives you the chance to get to know some of the people behind the uniform like Paddy and Joe (pictured below) who make the series. Biker Cops: Elite Squad One is focussed on NYP and starts Monday 5 October at 8pm on Channel 5. It will run for eight weeks before Christmas. Keep an eye on our social media channels over the coming weeks as we introduce you to some of the officers and stories featured in the series.
